Thank you to all attendees, exhibitors and sponsors for another fantastic event!
2016 Groundwater Week concluded with 5,233 in attendance, making it the sixth most attended show in its 68-year history. Groundwater Week’s 292 exhibitors occupied 67,300 square feet of exhibit space. There were 23 first-time exhibitors.
Groundwater Week colocated for the first time with the Irrigation Association, which attracted an additional 4000 attendees to the Las Vegas Convention Center. This meant nearly 10,000 groundwater and irrigation professionals from around the globe were part of Groundwater Week.
NGWA presented its Awards of Excellence, which included:
- Ross L. Oliver Award to Stewart Krause, Wyo-Ben Inc.
- M. King Hubbert Award to Bridget Scanlon, Ph.D., University of Texas at Austin, Texas
- Special Recognition Award to Leroy Goodson, former executive secretary of the Texas Ground Water Association
- Standard Bearer Award to Arthur E. Becker, MGWC, CPG, Drilling and Safety Consultants LLC
The last slate of workshops was as varied as the first day on Tuesday. Everything from safety to well maintenance to water chemistry to three-phase motor monitoring and protection was covered over the course of the week. Many workshops were filled to capacity.
Thank you—attendees, exhibitors, media partners, and sponsors—for another fantastic show. Look for a complete recap of Groundwater Week in the December 19 NGWA Toolkit and February 2017 issue of Water Well Journal.
