ITRC Guidance Documents Workshop

Effective Application of Multiple ITRC Guidance Documents to Hydrocarbon Sites

Thursday, December 8, 9:45 a.m.-3 p.m. (includes 75-minute lunch break)

Petroleum-impacted sites are subject to regulations and guidance directed at petroleum vapor intrusion, total petroleum hydrocarbons in soil, and LNAPL. ITRC has provided guidance related to each concern; however, concepts often overlap and the volume of material can be overwhelming for practitioners to fully understand and use in their career. The goals of this workshop are to quickly review principles from each ITRC document and use a case exercise where participants practice integrated use of the ITRC documents. Participants will discuss in teams how to:

  • Approach a hydrocarbon release in a holistic manner
  • Develop a comprehensive conceptual site model (CSM)
  • Utilize all three guidance documents to address concerns as they are recognized
  • Avoid the creation of data gaps (and excess cost to fill them)
  • Better manage an investigation.

Participants should be familiar with the ITRC guidance documents on PVI, TPH Risk, and LNAPL.

There is an additional registration fee for this workshop and preregistration is recommended. The cost is $50.00 per person on or before November 4 and $60.00 starting November 5; this workshop is free to state and federal government employees, but to register for the workshop as such you must do so by calling NGWA customer service at (800) 551-7379 or (614) 898-7791 or use the downloadable Groundwater Week registration form as the free option is not available via online registration.
